Spring and Simple | OOTD | Sitting In The Clouds

I’m not the most knowledgable person on this planet about fashion, the trends or what’s hot right now. I’d rather spend my money on makeup, books and video games than clothes. Most of the time I throw on a pair of jeans, a graphic tee, my go-to pair of uggs and head out the door. But on occasion I do like the spend some time going through my wardrobe and carefully pick out an outfit for the day.

However, I find it more difficult than usual if we are in those transition months, it’s not warm enough yet to go out without a coat but it is warm enough to wear some lighter pieces. So it’s a struggle for us girls to know exactly what to wear in spring season, especially if you’re like me and based in the UK.

Yesterday the sun was shining, which for me is very deceiving most of the time as you believe it’s going to be warm but most of the time it’s not. However it is spring so I wanted to start pulling some of my more spring/summer pieces out. I adore this jumpsuit but it’s definitely more suited for the summer months. However with some layering I made it more Spring appropriate.

Pairing the jumpsuit with some black tights and a simple black tee underneath allows an extra layer for when it’s a little more chilly outside than you expected. Throwing on a leather jacket, which aren’t the warmest coats in the world, also adds a different texture to the outfit…not necessarily a piece of clothing I would choose to keep me warm but it’s an iconic style piece that everyone should own. It in particular makes this outfit more “edgy”.

I wore this outfit yesterday to see my boyfriend. We ended up having a mini spontaneous day date to Nandos and then to the pub for some drinks to watch Man City V Arsenal. It was the perfect outfit as I didn’t feel too overdressed but also looked like I put in some effort when all I did was put a one piece on and add a few accessories.

I really liked how this outfit came together in the end and I’m excited to try more outfits similar in the future. I just need some spare cash in my purse to buy some new wardrobe pieces…student life.

I hope you enjoyed it and let me know what you think.

until next time,

xoxo, rachel

Welcome Back!!! Yesterday I went out to meet my boyfriend when he was on his lunch break at work and also grab my first festive drink of the season. I imagined this really cute outfit to wear and when I actually put it together from the clothes I owned and looked in the mirror, I fell in love with it so I knew I had to share it with you guys.

This outfit defiantly represents my girly side and I’m in love with it. I love the use of colours in this outfit as I’m usually the basic girl of black, white and grey outfits but yesterday I loved the colour combo of maroon and a deep blue/green which both scream autumn to me. You could defiantly dress up this outfit with pairing a leather jacket and a nice pair of heeled booties. However, I went for the casual look and this outfit is actually super cosy and warm. I didn’t feel the chill once when I was out yesterday. I’m defiantly going to be wearing this outfit through-out the winter season now.

until next time,

xoxo, rachel

P.S. I love autumn and winter fashion so I’m hoping to get some more OOTD posts up for you over the next couple of months.

Summer Grunge | OOTD | Sitting In The Clouds

Welcome Back!!! Summer is the time for all the bright colours, florals and flowy dresses to be worn and although I like wearing those sometimes I just want to rock the black, ripped shorts and edgy look even in the height of summer.

Yesterday, I went to visit my oldest friend, (Dani if you’re reading this…hi), who I’m still really close with with, and her family for an evening BBQ. It was lovely seeing them and catching up. I’ve known them my entire life…19 years and even if we don’t see each other for a while, when we do meet up again, it’s like no time as passed at all….those are true friendships.

It wasn’t a dressy occasion but I still wanted to look nice so I opted for some Harry Potter because…why not?! I was also desperate to wear my new ripped shorts from Missguided so with two pieces I defiantly wanted to wear, it was easy coming up with the finishing touch, a checkered shirt.

I absolutely loved how this outfit came out. Although it’s not your typical summer outfit, I love it. It’s going to be a perfect outfit for my day at Universal Studios when I’m on holiday and I can’t wait to wear it again. I’m the type of person that when I find an outfit I love, I will always wear it…get it, always on my t-shirt, always wear it, I’m hilarious haha!!

I hope you all had a great weekend. I only have a week left now until I’m off on holiday and I couldn’t be more excited. I have a blog post coming your way about what will be happening to my blog whilst I’m away so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Thanks for reading and if you enjoyed this post and want to see similar posts in the future, let me know. I love doing OOTD posts so let me know if you enjoy them also.

until next time,

P.S. My highlighter was on point yesterday…even if I do say so myself.

Pretending It’s Summer | OOTD | Sitting In The Clouds

Welcome Back!!! If the sun won’t shine, the clouds decide to stay and the rain won’t go away, I’ll just have make it look and feel like summer with the clothes I decide to wear. I know the UK isn’t known for it’s sunshine but could we at least have a little just so  everyone can at least pretend it’s summer?

IMG_2207.jpg

I decided to bring the sunshine to work this week but wearing this gorgeous bright floral off the shoulder top from H&M. I love the colours and print of this top as it’s not your typical floral print and it just screams summer to me.

Top: H&M

Jeans: Topshop

Although it is summer in the UK, it defiantly isn’t warm enough to wear shorts so I paired the top with some high-waisted jeans from Topshop….aka my go to jeans as I just love the fit of them, I hate jeans that aren’t super tight around the ankles and the Topshop Joni jeans are the only ones I like.

IMG_2200.jpg

I love Vans. I have multiple pairs but I decided to complete this outfit with my white ones. But they aren’t  your typical plain white vans. They have a beautiful subtle print on them making them super original. I’ve not seen anyone with these Vans before.

My boyfriend and I decided to walk down to my local old town to take these OOTD pictures and the memorial garden was decked out with patriotic flower beds since the Queen’s 90th  birthday wasn’t too long ago.
