Primark Haul | Spring | Sitting In The Clouds

I could make up a ton of reasons why I haven’t blogged in two weeks and bore you with all the same excuses everyone makes but instead I will jump straight into why you clicked on this post in the first place….to see what amazing items Primark has in store for the Spring/Summer seasons.

It’s no secret now that for the past couple of years Primark has increased it’s pricing but with a price increase meant the items were that much better and you now no longer just go to Primark for the basics, you go there to get the “in” pieces for half and maybe three quarters of the price.

Jeans: Topshop Joni Jeans

[The picture above is how I would imagine styling the Primark jumper, not all items are from Primark.]

In the UK we had one gorgeous weekend where the weather hit the high 20s and everyone layered on sunscreen, threw spontaneous BBQs for their neighbours and enjoyed the sunshine because us brits know to never take the sun for granted and as expected, the following day the clouds rolled in, the rain came and only a couple of days ago it felt like we were back in winter. So although it says Spring Haul in the title, it consists of more winter related items.

The first item I picked up was this gorgeous salmon pink jumper. I wanted it to be oversized and baggy, allowing me to roll up the sleeves and style it with jeans and a denim jacket, comfy, casual and cute so I got it in a size 14 and it’s the perfect fit for how I want to style it. [Inspiration from Zoellas latest clothing haul.]

I also picked up these cute mirrored sunglasses for £2, maybe they will bring some luck in the sun returning.

Jeans: Primark

I got this amazingly bright turquoise cropped jumper for only £5. It immediately caught my attention and when I felt how soft it was, I just had to own it. I think this is officially the brightest thing I now own in my wardrobe.

These pale pink high waisted jeans were also a bargain, only £10 I believe. They have little rip on the knees which I love and I think the turquoise jumper and these jeans would be a perfect spring outfit when the sun finally decides to show it’s face again for us. I’ve heard a lot of great things about Primark jeans so I’m excited to see how they compare to my beloved Toyshop Joni jeans as they look exactly the same.

Jumper: Forever 21

The final item I picked up in Primark was this adorable corduroy pastel pink pinafore. I can tell pink is really in this season as it’s everywhere in shops and now apparently it’s appearing a lot in my wardrobe.

I’ve never owned a pinafore until now but always wanted to but was never sure if they would suit my body or my style. However, when I saw this I couldn’t not buy it. I imagine wearing it [like shown above] with a grey cropped jumper, knitted tights and Uggs. That outfit seems very wintery but if you saw the weather in the UK right now, you would understand why.

I only picked up 5 items on this trip to Primark but I saw a lot of other pieces that looked amazing as well. Primark is definitely one of my favourite shops for clothes and accessories, not only for the basics but for some really fashionable pieces as well. Primark is upping it’s game for sure.

I will definitely be featuring all these pieces in OOTDs in the future as I can’t wait to wear them all and have already worn both jumpers to uni this week, so keep your eyes peeled for more OOTDs from me.

Thank you so much for sticking with me while I went MIA for a bit but I finish my first year of uni in May so it’s really hectic with a final push of work and blogging has had to take a back seat. I’m actually meant to be doing uni work now but one blog post can’t hurt can it?

until next time,

What I Got For Christmas | 2016 | Sitting In The Clouds

Welcome Back!!! It’s officially 2017, who can believe it? I hope you all had a fun and safe New Years Eve and aren’t feeling the effects too much today. I was sensible and down 12 glasses of water before I went to bed so no hangover for me, thank god! Anyway, let’s go back a week or so and remember Christmas. I was spoilt rotten this year by my family and boyfriend and even his family got me a few goodies. I can’t believe some of the things I received this year, I’m feeling very lucky. However, now Christmas is over and all the presents are unwrapped, I just now have the horrible task of finding a home for all my new gifts. So without further ado, let’s jump straight into it…

Where to start? I’ll start with the things I couldn’t photography for this blog post because I was lucky enough to receive some fantastic tickets this year. My parents got me Strictly Come Dancing Tour tickets, Cinderella Panto tickets as well as Aladdin tickets. I’m super excited to see all these shows and what’s great is they are all in January and February so I don’t have to wait long. However, my main gift from my parents this year was a brand new pair of Uggs…grey minis, the exact ones on my Christmas Wish List (have a peek here) but I couldn’t photograph them because we’ve had to exchange them for a smaller size. I can’t wait to start wearing them though because if I could wear Uggs every minute of every hour I would. They are my favourite type of shoes to wear, especially in the winter.

  • Vikor&Ralph Flowerbomb Perfume – This perfume is my all time favourite so when I opened this stunning box I was so happy. It comes with a 50ml bottle, perfect for my dressing table and a 7.5ml travel spray, perfect for my handbag.
  • Real Techniques Brow Set – I’ve been eyeing up this RT set for ages now so I’m so happy to finally have my hands on it. And yes, it lives up to my expectation of the Real Technique brushes. I’ve been using them since Christmas Day and they really make my eyebrows look “on fleet”…even if I do say so myself.

  • Tweezermen Tweezers – Ever since my sister got a pair of these, I’ve been “borrowing” hers. They are just amazing tweezers that get every stray hair plucked without it hurting. I love them and now I have my own pair my sister won’t need to hide hers from me anymore.
  • Brush Techniques Makeup Brush Cleansing Spray – I’ve never tried an actual product marketed for cleaning your brushes, I’ve just always used Johnson’s baby shampoo so I’m excited to see how it compares.
  • Vaseline Original (in fancy packaging for Christmas) – because you can never have enough lip balms and the packaging is so cute, no wonder my mum couldn’t resist picking them up.
  • The Body Shop Honeymania Shower Gel – I think it’s becoming a little tradition for my mum to put a giant Body Shop shower gel in my stocking each year. I love them so I’m not complaining and this scent is gorgeous. When I unwrapped it and saw “honey” I wasn’t sure I was going to be a fan of the scent but it’s not sweet at all and it smells divine. I also received The Body Shop bath melt in the same scent.

  • Quotes – My mum knows how much I love quotes and these two are just gorgeous. The quotes themselves are lovely but I love how they are displayed as well and I can’t wait to put them up on my wall.
  • Onesie & Slippers – I love a good onesie, I think I own a total of six now, ranging from Disney ones, to teddy bear ones and now this one. I pretty much live in them who I’m just chilling at home. This one is from Boohoo. I was also in desperate need of some slippers and I love slipper boots and with the onesie and slippers matching, my life is complete.

  • DVDs – For Christmas I specifically asked for my three favourite Disney films with the new artwork DVD sleeves as I want to one day collect them all and be able to display them all with all of them matching. I was super happy when I unwrapped all three. My collection has started.

Seeing as I had quite a few books on my wish list this year, when I unwrapped these four, I was so excited. These four were my top priorities so to now own them all is amazing.

  • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Illustrated Edition) by JK Rowling
  • Six of Crows & Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
  • Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them Screenplay by JK Rowling

I got other little pieces like a two pack of the Real Technique Miracle Complexion sponges as these are my go to tools to apply my foundation and concealer. I also received a tube of Maybelline Falsies mascara and some chocolate.

Now moving onto what Tom got me. I still can’t wrap my head around some of the gifts he got me. But before that, his mum and stepdad kindly brought me a couple of pieces.

  • Disney 2017 Calendar – the artwork is just stunning and I haven’t actually owned a calendar like this for years so I’m excited to use it.
  • The Disney Book – I can’t wait to read this book from front to back as I think it’s going to have some amazing facts inside. It also comes with an original film strip from the movie Brave, which is just AWESOME!!!

So what did Tom get me?

  • The Walking Dead frames – He gave me a Michonne one at the beginning of the month as a “congrats on uni” present and said it was a clue to my Christmas present. I now own the entire collection all signed by the artist. They must have cost a fortune. I literally can’t stop staring at them, they are stunning. And yes, I am a huge fan of The Walking Dead and actually got Tom into it when we first started going out.

I’m 19 yet I love a good cuddly toy. Tom treated me to a medium sized Baymax as I’ve been lusting over a Baymax plush since seeing it it when we went to Walt Disney World. He also got me the Limited Edition Christmas Minnie for this year and my favourite little bear…Winnie The Pooh. But the most amazing part about this Winnie The Pooh is that they don’t display him. You have to know about him to be able to buy him. He’s the 90th anniversary edition and really rare. He’s my favourite toy Tom has ever and probably will ever get me. He’s just so cute…Winnie the Pooh not Tom, haha!!

Tom also got me the most stunning pair of Swarovski earrings which I’m going to be saving for special occasions and also Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them Screenplay. Now you may be wondering, you got this from your family? And yes I did and I told Tom this as I opened it. But he simply replied, “yes, but you don’t have this one”. I was so confused until he opened it up…

Yes that’s right, he got it signed by the two graphic designers who worked on the film. Don’t ask me how but I nearly cried when I found this out. This present is so incredibly thoughtful because if you didn’t know my dream job is to be a graphic designer. I will forever cherish this copy and I’m keeping both copies I got so I can read one and keep one as a keepsake.

I told you I got spoilt rotten this year. Tom also got me a few bit and bobs, some Harry Potter stickers, a tote bag from when he went to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and some good old fluffy socks from Primark.

I hope you enjoyed this post and if you managed to get to the end I congratulate you as it was quite a long one.

What did you get for Christmas? Let’s chat in the comments.

until next time,

xoxo, rachel

I Needed It All | Drugstore Haul | Sitting In The Clouds

Welcome Back!!! The beginning of November hasn’t been great for me purely because each day it seemed like another one of my favourite, go-to products ran out on me. Therefore the only solution was to pop into my local Superdrug to replenish my stock. What I didn’t realise was the amount of things that I actually needed to buy and my purse wasn’t happy about it to say the least, but I justified it with the fact that I needed it all…hence the title of this blog post.

  • Maybellines Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara – my holy grail mascara and I can’t live without it. I prefer the luscious one to the original…full thoughts in review here
  • Rimmels Stay Matte Powder – I’ve used this in the past but not for a while and seeing as this was half the price of my go-to Bourjois Healthy Balance powder, I decided to pick the Stay Matte up again to see if I still love it as much as I did.
  • Maybellines Fit Me Concealer (15) – I adore this concealer, this is the third time of repurchasing. I rave about it more in my October Favourites.
  • Maybelline Brow Drama – This is the third tube of Brow Drama I have purchased and its now one of my go-to products. It sets my brows in place all day, adding colour and structure without my eyebrows looking fake. And for the price, it’s a win win!

  • Garnier Ultimate Blends Shampoo and Conditioner – I’m literally in love with these products and this line in general. They do amazing things to my hair and they are so affordable. [review here]
  • Garnier Ultimate Blends Oil – Out of this whole haul, this is the only product I haven’t tried before, but it was on sale at over half price (original price £9.99) and knowing how much I love the shampoo and conditioner, I just had to try this hair oil out.
  • Batiste Dry Shampoo – I ran out of the Herbal Essences dry shampoo in October [October Empties] and just knew when repurchasing a dry shampoo I had to go back to my holy grail Batiste Divine Dark.

I think skincare is the worst thing to run out of as I hate not knowing my face has has a full clean at the beginning and end of the day.

  • Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash – I’ve used this face wash before but a couple of years back but I remember really liking it and loving the scent so I decided to pick it up and try it again.
  • Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub – I also decided to pick up the face scrub in the same line to see how it performs against the face wash. I plan to use the face wash in the morning, as a gentle cleanse and then the face scrub in the evening to allow my skin a deeper clean after wearing makeup all day. I’ll let you guys know how I think of them and maybe even do my first ever skincare routine.

I went into Superdrug telling myself only to pick up what I really needed and I’m glad I stuck to to guns because I needed quiet a lot of stuff in the end and I spent way too much. However, I’m super happy with everything I got though and so glad to have some of my essentials back in my makeup bag.

Have you tried any of these products? What are your thoughts? Are any of them your holy grails?

until next time,

xoxo, rachel

DISNEY Haul | Sitting In The Clouds

Welcome Back!!! If you didn’t know..and if you didn’t, you’ve been living under a rock, I went to Walt Disney World with my family and my boyfriend (check out my blog post all about it here)at the end of August and I had the most amazing time. But without collecting multiple ‘Disney Park” bags on your trip have you really used your time in Disney wisely? The answer is no. Part of the Disney experience is shopping, whether that’s in the parks waiting for thunderstorms to pass by or down in Disney Springs for a chill out evening. So that’s exactly what I did.

(This haul won’t be including any of the clothes I brought because I thought…why don’t drag out the Disney blog posts for longer and make a haul dedicated to the clothes I got)

The first night we headed to World of Disney and this giant Stitch caught my eye instantly and I knew it was coming home with me. Tom very kindly got the giant Stitch plush for me as you actually can’t get this size of Stitch toy in the UK. And the question I always get when I show him to people is “how did you get it home?”… I took it on the plane of course. No, but seriously there was no issue with carrying it onboard, I just stored him in the overhead locker for the flight.

The stitch in front of the giant one I already owned and took with me but because I have the old design of Stitch, it actually fits into costumes that are meant for Duffy. I have a Sully costume for him so why not get a Pluto one for him too? Tom also very kindly got this one for me as well. I’m one lucky lady.

Walt Disney is my inspiration so it wasn’t a hard decision to pick up this beautiful poster of him from Art of Disney with one of my favourite quotes of his.

“I hope we don’t loose sight of one thing, it all started with a mouse”

I used to love Pin Trading, collecting the cheaper ones and trading with Cast Members. But now I’m older I just love collecting ones I like and having them as keep sakes. I was on a mission this trip to find pins of my favourite characters (Stitch, if you couldn’t tell and Baymax). The castle one actually opens up and inside is a photo of Walt Disney with his quote:

“It’s kind of fun to do the impossible”

And the last one I got was a 2016 one just to remember the year I went for the first time with my boyfriend.

I saw this mug the very first day in our hotel gift shop and fell in love. During the holiday, every time I saw it, I picked it up and stared at it’s beauty. On the very last day, Tom treated me once again and brought it for me.

Oh, just a side note…I collect mugs, I love them!

We were heading out of Epcot one evening and to shelter from the rain for a bit, we of course went into “World Traveler’s”. I spotted this necklace and brought it instantly. I didn’t really think about it at the time, it just caught my eye so I got it. I’m so happy I did buy it, I love it and I’ve worn it every single day since getting it.

Now onto the things I got in Universal and more specifically Harry Potter World.

Of course I had to get a wand. I already have Luna Lovegood’s, my favourite female character, from the Harry Potter studios so I knew I wanted my favourite male characters wand from Harry Potter World. So that’s what I did, I got Lupins. Well, Tom got it for me. He’s truly amazing and spoilt me so much this trip.

I also got a Gringotts bank note because why not?!

The final non-clothing item I got…well Tom got me, I see a recurring pattern, was these beautiful Hufflepuff magnetic bookmarks. Yes, I’m a Hufflepuff.

Bonus points if you can tell what books are modelling the bookmarks…haha!!

Just thought I’d throw these purchases in this haul. I got these two beautiful hardback Moleskin notebooks in Gatwick airport. The black one was originally just black (squared) but I customised it when I got home and it’s now my new bullet journal. The Toy Story one (lined) was limited edition so I had to pick it up. I have no idea what I’m going to use it for yet.

So that’s it. I would say my bank account took a real hit but it looks like Tom did more damage. I’m so grateful for Tom getting me all these amazing souvenirs, he’s truly amazing. I’m also so immensely grateful to my parents for paying for a once in a lifetime trip that I will never forget.

until next time,

xoxo, rachel

All About The Magic

LUSH Haul (ft.The Body Shop) | Sitting In The Clouds

Follow me on Bloglovin’

Welcome Back!!! A trip to London always ends up in shopping even if you don’t plan on it. Therefore my purse went to London fully loaded and left well and truly empty.

(I also brought a whole load of clothes ready for my trip to Disney, so if you want to see a “holiday haul”, let me know)

First Stop….LUSH!!!

  • American Cream (hair conditioner) – Although I have recently purchased some shampoo and conditioner (see here) but I couldn’t go to Disney without some American Cream. It does wonders with moisturising my hair and with the Florida heat and humidity, I knew I needed to take some with me.
  • Dirty Springwash (shower gel) – Another purchase for Disney. This is my favourite shower gel….like ever!!! It smells incredible and lathers up so well. I have tried many shower gels over the years and I have yet to find one that beats Dirty Springwash in the “lather” category.
  • Mask of Magnaminty (face mask) – Once again another favourite of mine from Lush, but to be honest if I could only use three LUSH products for the rest of my life, they would be the three I’ve mentioned today. This is the 4th pot I’ve purchased and I’m not going to stop buying it and will cry if they ever discontinue it. It just works wonders for my skin, I use it if I’m feeling spots coming to minimise/prevent or if spots appear this mask is great for reducing them.

(If you want reviews on any of these products, let me know)

Next Stop….The Body Shop!

The whole reason I popped into The Body Shop was to get a few things for my mum for her birthday. They were having a 30% sale if you were a member, even if you signed up that day, so of course I signed up…who wouldn’t miss a deal. But as well as the 30% off, they had a free gift if you spent over (I think) £25.

  • Shea Hand Cream – This landed my total over £25 so I got the free gift. I’ve never been a fan of hand cream, I’ve just never liked my hands being really greasy. However I decided to pick this up for £4 and see how I get on with it. So far I’m loving it, it smells great and it doesn’t take long to soak into my skin and doesn’t leave my hands feeling greasy.
  • Coconut Body Butter (free gift) – This product was the main reason I spent that extra £4 to get the free gift, I just love The Body Shop body butters.
  • Coconut Shower Cream (free gift) – Not much to say about this other than it’s a free shower cream so I can’t really complain. I have tried their shower gels in the past and I really like them, I have yet to try their shower creams.

(If you would like to see reviews on any of the products mentioned, let me know)

I’m super excited to try these new products or reuse some of my favourites. It’s going to take some willpower to not use my LUSH conditioner and shower gel before heading to Disney but I will try my very best.

Have you tried any of the products I’ve mentioned? What are your thoughts on them? Leave them in the comments.

until next time,

xoxo, rachel
